What is an IBC Tote?
An Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC), also known as an IBC tote, IBC tank, or tote tank, is a reusable industrial-grade container designed for the efficient transport and storage of bulk liquids, semi-solids, pastes, or solids.
IBCs bridge the gap between drums and tanker trucks, offering capacities typically ranging from 275 to 330 gallons (1,040 to 1,250 liters). They feature a pallet-style base that allows easy handling with forklifts and pallet jacks.
The most common type is the composite IBC, consisting of a blow-molded HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) inner bottle contained within a galvanized steel cage, mounted on a plastic or steel pallet. This design provides excellent protection while remaining lightweight and reusable.
